The Bulldogs (1980...something)
This piece was inspired by the classic 1980's teen films of John Hughes such as The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Career Opportunities, and also Phil Joanou's Three O'Clock High. Based on my High School experiences and the fun concept of exaggerating the High School stereotypes with 80's flare!
Starting out we have the under-drawing layer in Prismacolor Col-erase pencils on 11"x14" Strathmore Gray Toned Mixed Media Board.
Next I completed the illustration with some Copic marker washes, acrylic paint, and Prismacolor pencil rendering.
Finally to finish it all off I threw in some text with some varsity styled fonts and the silly but necessary clever Tagline.
